Professionally, I'm a technologist, artist, project manager, team leader, information architect, tinkerer, musician, and inventor. I've worked with computers for over 30 years and in addition to fiddling with inevitable details, I'm sometimes able to take a step back and appreciate the bigger picture. More about me is on my web site.
This blog, atomicsalad, is about technology ... and art ... and life ... and design ... and the future. The blog was started in the middle of 2005, I'd just returned from two months travelling in Asia. Just after the London subway bombings, and the resort bombing in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt. Then the world was, as it is now, facing challenging times, to be sure. Despite this, our collective spirit moves inevitably to create our future season-by-season, day-by-day, microsecond-by-microsecond. This procession interests me.
So, where did the name atomicsalad come from? Good question! I consulted dictionaries and thesauri for inspiration. But, in the end, "atomicsalad" popped fully formed into my mind at some random instant (a not-unusual, and always intriguing facet of my design experience.) To me it expresses some notion of "modern" (in a retro kind of way) and the everyday. This appeals to me.
In any case, read, share comments, enjoy!
